My artwork is informed by the environment and my personal experiences of nature ~ physically, mentally and emotionally. I feel most authentic when I am trail running or creating art. I take what I experience out in nature and incorporate the mountain/adventure metaphor into my daily life activities and through my creative process via layers of paint, collage, and mixed media.
My process is important as I use acrylic ink on paper as a source of tactile pigment. It provides a multi-media sensory connection with each art piece either by touch or as visual impact. I intentionally create and source materials that are upcycled, recycled and repurposed.
My sense of wonder of nature and love for trees is tangibly experienced though the tactile use of collage and mix media found in my landscapes and crafted sculptural pieces.
